Dreich Fare By Young Dons

This result [v Hamilton] also helped to atone for an earlier defeat in the Premier Reserve League by 1-0 at the hands of Rangers at Pittodrie.
Neil Simpson was given his third reserve team outing in this game rather than have him plunged back into first team action at Ibrox. Simpson clearly needed the extra second team game to help him back to match fitness from the groin strain suffered in the Skol Cup Final. Dons lost in frustrating fashion to a goal which swept in direct from a corner in the final ten minutes. Dons had a chance or two which, if put away, could have sealed the game before Rangers lucky winner.
Most disappointing moment came when, mid-way through the first half, Andy McLeod did well to barge his way through to force the ball into the net but he was pulled up for an alleged offence.
