Davidson Bang On Target

This was a very poor display against a very young Motherwell side, and we deserved to lose our unbeaten league record. We had quite a lot of scoring chances and only accepted one. Motherwell were gifted their two goals by slack goalkeeping by Ally McLean, but in saying that, it was the first bad game that he has played since coming to Aberdeen.
Only Chic McLelland of our defenders played to form. He was back to something like his best. In midfield John Reilly and Ian Gibson never got to grips with their counterparts, and Doug Rougvie had a real nightmare of a match - nothing went right for the "big fella". Up front Dougie Brown did a lot of work and with some luck could have been on the score sheet. Duncan Davidson scored our goal, but he was only a shadow of himself. John McMaster suffered an injury in a collision with Alistair Hunter and had to be replaced by Derek Fraser after the interval. Overall it was a disappointing performance and I hope the supporters don't have to suffer another ninety minutes like that again.
