Davidson Stakes Premier Claim

We beat Elgin City in a friendly game at Boroughbriggs by two goals to one with Duncan Davidson getting both our goals. We were pleased that the Elgin Club accommodated us as it had been three weeks since we had had a competitive game. It also gave us the opportunity to play John Shirran the Ellon United sweeper, who is a member of our youth coaching classes. He had a good game so there is no doubt he will get another trial for the reserves. Andy Watson had a very good game for us, and his strong tackling and hard running was one of the features of the game. Another feature was the display of our former player Ian Wilson for Elgin. His skill and work rate was first class and he also had the satisfaction of scoring his team's goal.
