Young Half Backs Star

THE bright feature of the Aberdeen reserves' 4-0 win over Alloa "A" at Pittodrie was the promising form of the young Pittodrie half backs, Jimmy Chalmers and Eric Baikie.

The Dons seem to have spotted a couple of winners in this pair, particularly Chalmers, who is a product of Torry F.P.s, the Aberdeen juvenile club. He is a stylish player with a sound sense of positioning and an accurate delivery.
Tony McKeown, the Aberdeen full back signed from Limerick, is also making good progress. Though not overworked, he had a good game.
In attack Jimmy Stenhouse was Aberdeen's match-winner. His three goals were all weil taken and on this form he must challenge for a place in the League side.
Kiddie and Pearson also played well though both were guilty of missing scoring chances. The left winger netted once from the penalty spot.
