Morton Beaten at Greenock.
DAVID SGORES TWO GOALS.
Aberdeen grained a clean-cut victory over Morton "A" by four goals to nil, in an Alliance fixture at Greenock. Aberdeen held the advantage from the start and Adam and Jackson had tries. Morton rallied their forces and Cumming topped over a header from Banks. The visitors were unlucky when smart work by Warnock resulted in David heading against the crossbar. McArthur, the Morton 'keeper, only managed to push out a shot from Jackson, and David slammed the ball into the net. Aberdeen's superiority was even more marked the second period. Morton started brightly and Cumming did well to clear from Thomson. Aberdeen quickly took matters in hand and in a goalmouth scrimmage Jackson added a second goal. The Morton goal underwent a heavy bombardment and fell again to David. Warnock notched Aberdeen's fourth goal near the close.Source: Press & Journal, 2nd November 1931
