Aberdeen Reserves win the Aberdeenshire Cup 7-1 on aggregate

Peterhead Fall at Pittodrie.

SMITH NOTCHES "HAT TRICK."

Aberdeen retained custody of the Aberdeenshire Cup by defeating Peterhead at Pittodrie Park on Saturday by four goals to one. The previous game had ended in a victory for Aberdeen by three clear goals, so that the aggregate of the home-and-home finals was 7-1 in favour of the Pittodrie team.

Aberdeen, winning the toss, took advantage of a strong breeze, and at once besieged the visitors' citadel.
Goalkeeper Henderson was in good form, and thwarted many efforts before he misjudged a long shot from Burke after fifteen minutes' play.
Aberdeen continued to hold the upper hand, and Smith added two further goals before the interval.

On the resumption, Smith soon increased Aberdeen's total after clever play by Oliphant, and in the succeeding exchanges Henderson's charge ran several narrow escapes.
Peterhead showed to more advantage in the closing stages, and were rewarded when Davidson scored their only goal from close range.

After game Mr J. Munro, president of the Aberdeenshire Association, presented the cup to Aberdeen and badges to the players of both sides. Mr W. Philip accepted custody of the trophy on behalf of Aberdeen F.C.
