Airdrie's Fine Recovery

Aberdeen A after holding a two-goals to nil lead at the interval in their Alliance fixture at Airdrie, allowed the home team to draw level in the second period.
Play was of the end-to-end variety at the start and of singularly unexciting nature. Twelve minutes had gone when Oliphant accepted a pass from McKenzie to give the young Dons the lead.
Aberdeen were the better balanced side during this period, but it was close on half-time before they increased their advantage. A long range effort by Falloon rebounded off Pyper's head into the net.
A slackening off on the part of the Aberdeen reserves saw Airdrie in a better light in the second period. Russell secured the homesters first goal, and excitement ran high when Bertram equalised. Both teams strove desperately but vainly for the deciding goal.
