Another Triumph For Aberdeen Reserves

Aberdeen "A" scored yet another triumph on Saturday when, before between two and three thousand spectators they defeated Beith by seven goals to two.
The visitors created something of a surprise in the opening minutes by taking the lead through Miller, against a hurricane of wind and rain. Aberdeen quickly recovered, however, and forced two corners, from the second of which McHale equalised. On level terms the home team took matters in hand, and Fotheringham in the Beith goal was continually in action. He had eventually to admit defeat, however; Merrie following up quickly dispossessed the 'keeper to give Aberdeen the lead. A minute later Wilson and Merrie got through, and the latter's shot struck the crossbar, and then Fotheringham held a shot by David.
In a Beith raid Clark was held up as he was going through. Play was quickly centred round the visitors' goal again, and McLeod increased the home total from a corner. Beith retaliated, and Blackwell held a smart effort by Lindsay. At the other end Fotheringham saved from Merrie, and McKenzie struck the woodwork. There was no holding Aberdeen at this stage, and shortly before the interval Falloon took the home total to four.

TIRED VISITORS.

After a brisk opening raid by Beith, Aberdeen once more took the offensive, and from a McKenzie cross David netted. Beith were obviously tired after a hard first half, while Aberdeen were as lively as ever. Fotheringham twice saved from Merrie, and then came a Beith revival, and Blackwell was in action to a shot by Clark. Another attack by visitors the bore fruit, Bell converting a pass by Clark. Aberdeen immediately replied, and McLeod added a sixth goal from long range. The home team were very much superior, and from, a McKenzie slip Merrie notched a seventh goal. The game was finished in semi-darkness.
