Our next game was a league fixture at Pittodrie against Ayr United, and although we had a few of our regulars missing we managed to get a draw. Our formal goalkeeper Andy Geoghegan had a great game for the visitors and but for him I'm sure we would have come out on top, but on saying that I thought the Ayr boys played very well, and we had many anxious moments in our goal area.
Bobby Glennie playing sweeper for the day had a great game and it was fitting that he had the honour of scoring our equaliser ten minutes from time. Ian Gibson was another player who earned pass marks. Gibby's use of the ball was first class and if some of the other players had been more alert we would have had more goals. As it was, it took an own goal by Davie Wells to give us our first goal.
