Aberdeen 'A' For Second Round

Falkirk Reserves Dumped.

At Pittodrie, Aberdeen "A" had no difficulty in qualifying for the second round of the Scottish Second XI. Cup competition at the expense of Falkirk "A," whom they beat by 6 goals to 1. The visitors opened the scoring through Houston after about eight minutes' play, but after Aberdeen had equalised through Donald, the home team were always on top. Before the interval Wilson put Aberdeen "A" on the lead, but they might have held their advantage earlier had they been more thrustful in front of goal.
It was a different story in the second half, when they carried everything before them. Donald accepted a pass from Merrie to score a second goal, and Polland quickly obtained a fourth. The total was brought to six by Merrie, who netted twice in quick succession. In the later stages Aberdeen slackened off, but their supremacy was not seriously challenged. The game attracted 10,000 spectators.
