Champions Badly Beaten At Home

ABERDEEN "A" GO NAP.

Aberdeen A put up a remarkably good performance at Ibrox where they defeated Rangers A by five goals to nil.
By the splendid victory the Pittodrie second string, besides retaining their unbeaten certificate, have gone to the top of the Alliance League table, and there seems little fear of their losing their that position.
The feature of Saturday's game was the scoring of a hat-trick by David.
With five minutes gone Aberdeen took the lead through David, off a Wilson cross. Nettled, Rangers attacked vigorously, and Blackwell saved from McPherson and McMillan. At the other end Merrie missed a good opportunity, when, with a clear field, he shot straight at the keeper. Following this the Aberdeen goal had narrow escapes, despite great play by the half-back. Near the interval a misunderstanding in the home defence resulted in David increasing the Aberdeen total.
Rangers came away strongly in the second period, and following a free kick Cooper blocked a shot by Nicholson. Immediately after McPherson gave McMillan chance, which he threw away.
Merrie added a third goal Aberdeen, and ten minutes from the end Wilson, took the total to four. Just on the final whistle David added a fifth to complete his hat trick.
