Aberdeen 'A's Revenge

Fast and interesting exchanges marked the return Scottish Alliance game at Pittodrie on Saturday between Aberdeen "A" and Leith Athletic, but the homesters won - and won deservedly - by 4 goals to 0. The weather was of a wretched description, wind and rain proving an unpleasant combination.
With the elements in their favour in the first half, Aberdeen made the running hot and gave the Leith defence a gruelling time of it. Long shooting was the order with such a driving gale and Spencer opened the scoring with a fierce forty-yard drive which found the net, Steel, in the visiting goal, being unsighted by Bernard. Although Reid, at centre-half for the visitors, played a forcing game, his forwards could make nothing of the home defence, and MacFarlane got through twice before the interval.
To the surprise of their supporters the "Dons" played even better and more clever football against the gale and rain. They kept the Leith defence always on the move and the latter's forwards seemed to have shot their bolt. McSevich was seldom troubled, although Reid and Elliott gave him an anxious moment or two. Roughness crept in towards the end which came with Aberdeen worthy winners. Lawson got the fourth goal off a corner. Every man in the Aberdeen team played a hard and clever game, and for Leith, Bernard, Reid, Anderson, Rae, and Elliott were the pick.
