Dundee Hibernian Select 0 - 0 Aberdeen

In aid of the Lord Roberts Memorial Workshop Fund, on Tannadice Park, Dundee. Aberdeen included a number of their First Division team, while the Dundee side included McCloy, Kilpatrick, and Slade (Ayr United), Brownlie and McCormack (Third Lanark), and Ballantyne and Salisbury (Partick Thistle). There were close on 2000 spectators present.

At Tannadice Park, Dundee, the Aberdeen team and a Dundee Hibs Select played a goal-less draw. The match was in aid of the Lord Roberts Memorial Workshops' Fund. The home team included several players from West of Scotland clubs, and Hutton and Brownlie were the respective captains. Both sides pretty showed touches, and if Aberdeen combined better the result did justice to both.

Much of the finer things in football were on show at Tannadice Park, when a Dundee Hibs Select met Aberdeen on behalf of the Lord Roberts Memorial Workshop Fund.
The serious aspect was gone except immediately after the interval, when Aberdeen threw themselves into the game and made things lively. That served to create contrasts, and when the outburst died away the game continued its previous journey of making matters pleasant from the spectators' viewpoint. They succeeded in that, but failed to score goals, though that really didn't matter.
The crowd liked to watch the work of the First Leaguers. Much of it was very well done, and, if anything, Aberdeen were the side to lead the way in that.
With a strong defence, an eager halfback line, and nippy forwards they performed pretty things. But they could not shoot, and even Miller, with Brownlie at his mercy, did nothing but mark the crossbar.
Brownlie spoilt his game with a couple of very faulty clearances. The others of the Select who shone were McCormack, Kilpatrick, and Salisbury. Hutton was the mainstay of a fine Aberdeen defence, and Moir was the man who caught the eye forward.
