A cup-tie complaint Mr Wm. McIntosh (Dundee United) received an assurance from president Harry Swan that the whole question of authorising local cup-ties from year to year would be reviewed this season.
Mr McIntosh had raised the point with regard to the Dundee-Aberdeen match played at Dens Park on April 14.
He said he would like to know why that match was authorised, particularly when it was liable to injure the interests of another member o£ this association.
In reply, secretary George Graham said the Dundee-Aberdeen match was an authorised match under the approval given by the S.F.A. Executive Committee 1946 for annual inter-city matches to be played by the Dundee and Aberdeen clubs. The match had, in fact, been wrongly billed as a Mitchell Trophy match, but both clubs had expressed their regret that the match had been incorrectly advertised, and undertook to avoid any repetition.
Mr McIntosh agreed to let the matter rest on the assurance given by the president.

The consequence of this story is that although the match was biled as an Inter-City Cup tie, for the record it was not.
