Aberdeen 1 - 1 Dundee

If some of the usual "bite" was absent from last night's game between Aberdeen and Dundee at Pittodrie, the 10.000 spectators must have found consolation in the clever brand of football produced by the teams.
It was good entertainment and the final touch was added by two first-class goals - one for each side. There was nothing at stake and the players were able to indulge in smart footwork and clever combination.
In this respect there wasn't a great deal to chose between the teams. The Dons claimed the first goal in twenty-eight minutes, Boyd finished a right wing dash by cutting along the bye-line, beating Cowan and teeing the ball up for Yorston to score.

DUNDEE had their big moment eight minutes later, when Cowie gave Ewen a chance with perfect ground pass. The inside right resisted a tackle by Lowrie and gave Martin no chance with an excellent shot.
Aberdeen's bright spark in attack was Alan Boyd. The right winger was full of dash and enterprose, and on this form is bound to come into the reckoning as a first team candidate next season.
Hamilton was too well watched by his old club-mate Paltillo to do any damage, and Baird and Yorston did not play to form. Pearson was an entertainment in himself on the left wing, but too often he delayed in getting the ball into the middle.

Youn was safe at centre-half, and Lowrie is to be congratulated on a good display against Billy Steel, Scotland's inside left The former Manchester United player was never far from his rival. Rodger put up quite a creditable show at back.
Massie played well at back for Dundee and the experienced Pattillo policed the middle effectively. There was a lot to like about the play of Gallagher, a clever, forcing wing half-back.
Ewen was always libely in attack for the Dark Blues, and in spite of the close attentions of Lowrie Steel contrived to get away many accurate passes.
