NATAL PROVES DONS' BOGEY

DEFENCE MISTAKES COST TWO GOALS

SCOTT SHINES IN FORWARD LINE

From Our Own Correspondent, Maritzburg, Wednesday.

Two goals scored by Natal soon after the interval through misunderstanding between Falloon and his goalkeeper robbed Aberdeen F.C. of victory in their match with Natal here to-day.
The Scottish Cup finalists led 2-0 at half-time, but the game finished 3-3. The weather was sunny and hot, but conditions were otherwise excellent, when the match began before about 3000 spectators. Aberdeen won the toss, and Natal kicked off facing the strong sun.

AHEAD IMMEDIATELY

Aberdeen monopolised the game during the first half and gave Natal little chance of repeating their success in the tourists' sixth match, when they won 4-3.
After five minutes Aberdeen went ahead, Scott nipping in and netting when Cain, the Natal left back, miskicked.
The Natal attack was slow and unconvincing, showing none of the dash which marked their play in their previous match against Aberdeen. The only change from the side which represented Natal on that occasion was Brown for Stewart on the right wing.
The Aberdeen forwards had plenty of opportunities to show their craft, and in the thirty-first minute they went further ahead with another goal by Scott, the ball striking the post before going into the net.
Four minutes after the interval Natal reduced their deficit. Falloon kicked the ball back to Johnstone, his goalkeeper, but the latter failed to gather the leather, which rolled into the net.

"HE WHO?"

Another unfortunate incident for Aberdeen happened four minutes later. Falloon, again passing back to Johnstone, hesitated before making the pass, and Foxcroft snapped up the chance and slipped the ball into the net before either Johnstone or Falloon knew what had happened.
Natal now made every effort to prevent the Dons regaining the lead but a quarter of an hour before the finish, after Aberdeen had been pressing hard for some time, Lang passed to Mills, who scored with a hard first time drive.
The home side immediately equalised again. Straight from the kick-off the ball was passed back to the centre-half who sent a nice long pass to his inside-left, Smethurst, who made no mistake with a hard drive into the far corner of the net.
Aberdeen fought hard for a winning goal in the closing stages and were rather unlucky not to win.
