ABERDEEN PLAY A DRAW AT ARBROATH.

A match for the benefit of James Thomson, one of Arbroath's oldest players, took place between Arbroath and Aberdeen. The weather was fine, and there was an attendance of 1500. The result was a draw two goals each.
Aberdeen early asserted themselves, and twenty minutes after the start Miller gave them the lead. Arbroath, however, put up a good game, and their determined work was rewarded when Gordon equalised, the same giving the home team the lead by driving home a fine cross from the right. Arbroath led at the interval by 2-1. On resuming, Aberdeen quickly look up the aggressive, and in six minutes Paton equalised. The goal came from a clever bit of work by Miller, who, after beating the defence, parted with the ball to Paton, who had no difficulty with Myles. The Arbroath forwards continued to play quite a good game, and gave the Aberdeen defence plenty to do The game was most pleasantly contested. For Aberdeen, Miller, at centre, was prominent, and of the defence Hutton was outstanding.
