Aberdeen travelled Dundee last night and played Dundee in a friendly game, the occasion being the opening of Rockwell Park, the new ground of the Violet junior club. The result was a win for Dundee by 3 goals to 2.
Travers, the Aberdeen trainer, figured at right half for Aberdeen, whose team also included Donaldson (Dundee Violet) and Harkins (Dundee Joseph's).
Although goals were plentiful, the game was of an eminently friendly nature. Halliday was the first to score, and afterwards Miller equalised for Aberdeen, who took the lead through Dick just before the interval.
In the second half the Aberdeen half-backs kept the Dundee forwards well in hand, and it seemed that the Pittodrie team would be equal to retaining the lead. Fairly late in the game, however, Newman headed the equaliser, and a minute later Halliday obtained the winning goal with a shot that gave Blackwell no chance.
