The Dons picked up a good SPL Reserve League point at Forthbank after having to play more than three quarters of the match a man down following the harsh sending off of Stirling Smith in the 17th minute for a professional foul. The scoring was already over by then, Chris Maguire having put the visitors in front in the 4th minute from the penalty spot after Gary Carroll had been brought down. Hearts leveled eleven minutes later when a Jason Thomson shot took a deflection off Mitch Megginson to send John Bateman the wrong way. Charlie Mulgrew almost won the game for the Dons late on when he fired a free kick inches past the post.
