Bagshaw bags first u21 goal

A goal in either half gave the Young Dons victory over their Livingston counterparts at the City Stadium this afternoon, with 15 year old Aberdeen Grammar pupil Andy Bagshaw grabbing his first goal for the club at this level.

The opener came in the 37th minute following a corner for the home team. The ball broke to Kevin Souter, whose flighted ball found John Stewart, who shot was blocked on the goal-line. However, BAGSHAW was the first to react, bundling the ball over the line.

Aberdeen doubled their advantage with five minutes remaining. A Duncan Jones free kick was nodded on by Stephen Tarditi to the crossbar, only for home keeper Greg FLEMING to turn the ball into his own net.

After the game, boss Neil Cooper commented. "We gave the ball away too much in the first half but in the end I don't think 2-0 flattered us. We created a fair number of chances and generally it was an entertaining game between two very young sides."
