Young Dons continue fine form

While the senior team were giving Rangers a football lesson at Pittodrie the U19 team were in Edinburgh to face Hibs. The youth team continued their good form with a 3-1 win over the home side.

The Dons made a positive start and were rewarded in the 11th minute when they grabbed a deserved lead. McInnes supplied a deep corner to the back post, which Thomson played back across the goal for Tarditi to hit a sweet right foot strike into the net. Slack defending in the 18th minute allowed the home side to equalise in the 18th minute through Kane.

Thomson was then denied by the woodwork before he finally found the net in the 41st minute. McInnes was the provider again and Thomson netted at the far post. Three minutes later the Dons added a third after great play by Bagshaw set up Stewart at the near post. The second half was a rather flat affair but Aberdeen had done enough in the first period to wrap up the points.

Neil Cooper was pleased at the outcome and told Redweb, "I'm really pleased with the way the lads have started after the winter break. This win on the back of the Rangers defeat lifts us up the league and will give the boys confidence for the rest of the campaign."
