Second string stay top after Bairns dumped

Dons striker John Stewart made it thirteen goals in eleven games with two first half counters as Aberdeen's second string kept up their SPL reserve league title challenge with a comfortable won over the Bairns at Links Park. The opener came ten minutes before the interval when Stewart collected the ball inside the area, evaded a couple of challenges, before rifling a left foot shot into the net. On the stroke of half-time, Darren Mackie was brought down inside the box and Stewart made no mistake from the resultant spot kick. The second period was a quieter affair with neither side creating much in the way of goalscoring opportunities.
