Dons second string disappointed with draw

New signing Sven Baas enjoyed a quiet Dons debut, playing the whole 90 minutes as the Pittodrie second string shared the spoils with Rangers at Broadwood.

Rangers took the lead after 3 minutes through DAVIDSON but after 31 minutes, the Dons equalized with a excellent Scott MUIRHEAD free kick. As well as the goal Scott put in another impressive performance.

Aberdeen were the better side and with twenty minutes remaining, John Stewart was brought down inside the box after good work from substitute Willie John Kiely. STEWART took the resultant kick himself, making no mistake. In the 80th minute MALCOLM completed the scoring to make it 2-2.

Afterwards manager Sandy Clark commented. "To be honest, I'm disappointed we didn't take all three points but overall it was a reasonable display."
