reserves beat Rangers

A strong Aberdeen second string overpowered Rangers at Ibrox, with first half strikes from Steven Craig and an own goal earning Neil Cooper's squad three welcome SPL Reserve League points.

The Dons went ahead in the 14th minute when Scott Morrison's run down the left saw his cross met perfectly by Steven CRAIG who made no mistake.

Ten minutes later Aberdeen doubled their advantage when Richard Foster's powerful charge down the left ended with a wicked cross that caused chaos in the home defence and under severe pressure from John Stewart, Andrew DICK turned the ball past his own keeper Graeme Smith.

Stewart then had a goal disallowed as the Dons continued to dominate and it was the same story after the break with the woodwork coming between Foster and a third before the same player brought out a brilliant save from Smith.
