youngsters suffer comprehensive defeat

Aberdeen's youngsters suffered a comprehensive defeat at the hands of their Rangers counterparts at Murray Park with a poor first half showing putting the match well beyond their reach by the interval.

The Dons got themselves off to the worst possible start when keeper Greg Kelly turned an Agnew effort into his own net after just five minutes. Worse was to follow when McMillan added a second four minutes later before further efforts from Crooks (29 mins) and Watson (42 mins) put the Light Blues in an unassailable position at the break.

The second period was a more even affair although McColl added number five in 56 minutes to complete the scoring.
