Falconer Haunts Dons

After an even opening spell, the visitors took the lead in the 29th minute when former Don Willie Falconer was given all the space in the world to direct a header past Dave Preece.

Ten minutes later, the same player repeated the damage, again with an easy header, this time from a corner kick.

Boss Ebbe Skovdahl left Ilian Kiriakov in the dressing room for the second half, bringing on Ricky Gillies and although the home team had more of the play after the break, Dundee were never in any real danger of surrendering their advantage.

The one bright note for the Dons was the performance of 17 year old Darren Mackie, who had an impressive first full ninety minutes.

Aberdeen now face Livingston on Tuesday evening, still searching for their first goal of the season, let alone a victory.
