Paul Hegarty's chances of bagging the Pittodrie mamager's job increased significantly as the Dons ran up their third win on the trot since he took over as caretaker boss.

After a goalless first half, John Inglis side footed his first of the season in 52 minutes only for George Shaw to level within a minute with a shot which took a wicked deflection off Andy Dow to leave Derek Stillie, in for Jim Leighton who was laid low with flu, helpless.

The battling Dons never gave up though and were rewarded in 75 minutes when Robbie Winters and Eoin Jess combined to allow the latter to notch his tenth of the season and with it the win which sees Aberdeen move seven points clear of bottom placed Dunfermline.
