THE mercurial Dons con-1 founded the critics again at Tynecastle. The prophets forecasted defeat from Hearts, once again the Aberdeen players turned on their best brand of play.
It’s funny how the Dons can rise to the occasion. Regularly against the better-class teams they put up a good show.
But match them with some of the more moderate sides and they are liable to lose points.
The fact that this season they have conceded four points at Pittodrie — two to Airdrie and one each to Queen of the South and Railh Rovers — illustrates the point. With these four points in the bag the Dons would have been right amongst the leaders.

FULL marks for their display at Tynecastle. Anyone who wasnt satisfied with the football served up by the two teams should lake an interest in some other sport.
There was good football, played at top speed and with an abundance of thrills, and a draw was the right result.
The Aberdeen defenders had their anxious moments, but the same can be said of the Hearts' rearguard. Over the ninety minutes the Pittodrie defence played well, and if I mention only Emery is because the left back was reckoned to have the most difficult task against Rutherford.
In the early stages the Welshman found the winger an awkward customer, but he was full of fight and he was master of the situation in the second half.

ON their game the Hearts forwards are regarded as one the best attacks in Scotland. The Dons were not one whit inferior on Saturday, and there was some first-class football provided.
The entire line was lively and adventurous. Pearson was at his trickiest and Yorston was more his old, bustling self. He scored both goals.
If the Dons are In the same mood at Fir Park this week, they should certainly not be beaten.
