Good Goals Six of Them - at Firhill

ABERDEEN "A" forced a replay in the Scottish 2nd XI. Cup third-round tie at Firhill Park, and both teams deserved congratulations for a splendid game in atrocious weather. Aberdeen produced the better football and generally made ground with less effort than Partick Thistle, whose forwards were inclined to bunch.
The six goals were all smartly taken. Gibson recorded a hat-trick for Aberdeen "A" in the first half, and was a success apart from his goals for intelligent distribution, good ball control and positional sense.
Sutherland and T. Wright both scored from close range, and Sutherland's other goal came after a grand run from midfield.

Thomson Steady

Watson was a capable goalkeeper for Aberdeen, and both Ashe and Robson were steady under pressure, with the right back more reliable in his clearances.
Robb and Stenhouse were grand, forcing half backs, whose strong tackling was a feature. Thomson played a steady game against the tricky Sutherland.
Yorston and Smith linked up well with a live-wire centre in Gibson. Millar and Martin were good wingers, but lacked punch.
Both teams deserved to fight another day, and a draw was a fair result.
