Young Dons Lacking in Inspiration

ABERDEEN "A" gave apother disappointing display at home on Saturday and were held to a 1-1 draw by an Albion Rovers side which played without Stein (centre half) throughout the second half, Stein had his nose broken in a first-half collision and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A goal by P. Smith, a clever inside left, gave the visitors an interval lead, and although Aberdeen "A" did the bulk of the pressing in the second half they were devoid of ideas when it came to putting the ball in the net.
A number of positional changes were made, and ultimately Gauld, the trialist from Hall and Co., dashed off to score the equalising goal. This junior showed plenty of speed and made the most of the one opportunity he got after half-time.
Successes were few in the home side, in which Ashe, a right back from Dairy Thistle, made a promising debut.
Best of the others were Thomson and Stenhouse. The latter did his best to infuse some life into the home side.
Coutts was a grand 'keeper for the Albion Rovers and he got good support from Imrie, when the latter moved to centre half. Smith was the best forward.
