Waddell's Firm Grip On Brown

ALTHOUGH the home team had long spells of pressure at Fir Park, the Aberdeen reserves thoroughly deserved the points. The Young Dons took the shortest route to goal, and they had first-class opportunists in Williams and Yorston, who shared the goals between them.
There was little to choose between the defences, but Aberdeen had stalwarts in goalkeeper Watson and centre-half Waddell. The latter simply tied up Brown, who is Scotland's leading scorer in "A" Division.
Kiddie and Miller were thrustful wingers for the Young Dons, and they put over many good crosses. Williams and Yorston put Aberdeen "A" three ahead before Kerr reduced the deficit from a penalty.
Williams didn't take long to complete his hat-trick, and, although Kesley put more life into the game with a goal for Motherwell, the Young Dons came again near the close. Yorston completed the scoring.
