Aberdeen Reserves were just value for their 1-0 win at Cathkin PArk. The only goal came in the closing minutes when Hume beat Petrie with a fierce drive.
With three trialists in the side the Young Dons dictated the run of the play, and the Newman at inside left took the honours.
The Pittodrie defence was steady. Watson was a safe goalkeeper, and Cowie excelled at right-back. Spalding and the trialist made a good left wing, although the winger was inclined ot over-run the ball.
It was a hard game throughout, but the honours went to the better side.
