Aberdeen 0 - 1 Morton

WEAKNESS in attack cost Aberdeen Reserves the points in their match with Morton "A" at Pittodrie. The visitors' win by the only goal of the match was merited.
They held an advantage forward, the line moving with a nippiness and a directness that the home van could not equal. But for the brilliance of Waddell the visitors would have won by a bigger margin. The centre-half was the outstanding player on view and thwarted innumerable Morton attacks.
The middle line was the Dons' strongest department. "Newman" at right half played a forcing game, and in the second half had a particularly fine effort - a free kick from thirty yards which Johnstone did well to turn round the post.
Martin, who was making his debut before a home crowd, showed some smart touches in leading-up work, but the line as a whole never knit together, and Walker at centre had to plough a lonely furrow.
Morton had a dangerous leader in McKillop, and he got good support from Lindsay and Callam. The goal was scored sixteen minutes from, the start - a header by McKillop from a Lindsay cross.
