The Dons unbeaten run continued as they beat a young St Mirren team 4-1. Aberdeen got off to a great start when Phil McGuire scored in the second minute from close range after good work by Andy Dow. However there was bad news for McGuire when he had to go off injured after twenty minutes and though the Dons continued to dominate there was no further scoring in the first half.
The second half started as well as the first for the Dons when Thomas Solberg who was returning from a twelve week injury absence headed home in the forty-sixth minute. There was no further scoring until the seventy-first minute when Darren Mackie ran on to a through ball from Andreas Mayer to score his first under 21 league goal of the season and the Dons third of the match.
Kieran Gallagher pulled one back for the visitors in the eighty sixth minute but two minutes later the Dons extended their three goal lead when Andreas Mayer who was the Dons outstanding player scored after good lead up work by Calum Bett.
