Aberdeen 4 - 0 Third Lanark

Aberdeen 'A' Avenge Previous Defeat Aberdeen "A" avenged their defeat at Cathkin earlier in the season when they easily mastered the Third Lanark reserves by four goals to nil at Pittodrie on Saturday. The Young Dons, although they did not reveal the same sparkle as in recent home games, were never stretched, and but for poor finishing would have had a considerably larger total.
The home team claimed the bulk of the play, but their forwards lacked cohesion, and finished badly. Moreover, Hall, in the visiting goal, was in brilliant form, and time and again was cheered for his splendid clearing.
Aberdeen "A's" outstanding attacker was Brown, who took the place of Ritchie Smith at inside right. He was in grand form, and often led the visiting defence a merry dance. Two of the home goals came from his foot.
The Young Dons' strongest department was at half-back, where Currer, Ritchie and Donald usually had the mastery of the visiting attack, and in addition forced play in fine fashion. The defence, too, played well, and Johnstone in goal dealt confidently with everything that came his way, including a penalty kick by Morrison, Thirds' leader.
Like Aberdeen, Third Lanark "A's" attack never got properly going, while their defence was hard worked throughout the game.
Eight minutes after the kick-off Brown slipped a Lang pass out of Hall's reach. No further scoring took place during that period, but the second half was only two minutes old when Brown was again on the mark. Scott brought the total to three, and after Johnstone had saved the penalty kick Taylor broke through to complete the scoring.
