Friendly Match At Buckie

Young Dons Win by Five Goals to One

In a friendly match at Victoria Park, Buckie, on Saturday, Aberdeen "A" beat Buckie Thistle comfortably by five goals to one.

Thistle faced a bright sun at the start, but were the first to be dangerous. Aberdeen then had a look in, only to be repulsed, after which a keen struggle took place for the opening goal. In fifteen minutes Buckie took the, lead, Calder being the marksman. The visitors then wakened up, and both goals ran narrow escapes before Bain got the equaliser. For a time Aberdeen pressed strongly, and Wood in goal had some good saves to his credit before he was beaten by Divine, who scored from close in with Wood out his charge.
Buckie went all out for the equaliser, but could not pierce the visitors' defence. When Aberdeen were awarded a penalty Scott sent past with his spot kick, and the visitors crossed over leading by 2-1.
The second period opened with Aberdeen on the offensive, but Buckie stuck in gamely, and on play they were value for another goal. Westland was lucky to keep his charge intact. Towards the close of the game Aberdeen were definitely superior and further goals came from Bain, Smith and Devine.
