Young Dons' Good Show

Beat Hearts Reserves by Odd Goal in Three

Aberdeen reserves put up good performance at Tynecastle, when they deservedly got the better of the Hearts second string by the odd goal in three.
The homesters had the better of the first half exchanges, but Aberdeen were on top after the interval.
The Pittodrie defence gave an excellent account of itself in the opening period and the nearest Hearts came to opening their account was when a good try by McGill struck the crossbar.
The second half was only two minutes old when the young Dons went ahead. Smith running in to head the ball into the net after Waugh had punched out a try by Warnock.
Three minutes later Waugh was injured In throwing himself at Smith, who was going through, and Warnock gained possession to find the net.
The 'keeper was off for some time, but with his return the homesters attacked desperately.
It was close on time, however, before Royan reduced the leeway.
