Warnock Notches Hat-Trick

Aberdeen A " were not flattered by the margin in their favour, as they were sound in all departments. They had the pull at half-back, where Reid, Gavin and Ritchie kept a good grip on the visiting forwards, and also found time to supply the men in front with clever passes.
The Young Dons were more impressive at the outset and it was no surprise when Warnock put them ahead after eight minutes. The winger had cut in to goal and netted from near the penalty spot. Westland was not called on to save during the first fifteen minutes, while Waugh's charge had some lucky escapes.
Hearts brightened up a bit, and after thirty minutes Anderson equalised. The equality was short-lived, however, Bain scoring a fine goal for the homesters. Aberdeen "A" held the upper-hand practically throughout the second half and Westland's charge was seldom seriously threatened.
Scott took a rebound off a defender and scored a third after fifteen minutes, while before the end Warnock twice found the net to complete his hat-trick. On both these occasions the right winger took advantage of lovely passes from Scott.
For Aberdeen "A," Westland was a safe 'keeper, while Temple was the better back, although Urquhart more than held his own with the opposing wing.
All three half-backs were good, with Ritchie outstanding. The left-half had been off for two months but made a great, come-back. In attack, Warnock, Brown and Bain were best.
Hearts "A" were well served by Munro, Dykes, Miller (a grand half-back), Battles and McGill.
