Mclvor Again Injured: Cartilage Trouble Feared
Joe Mclvor, the left-half secured from Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, has been most unfortunate in the way of injuries since he came to Pittodrie. He resumed on Saturday after a long absence, but the game had not long begun when he was again injured, he pluckily carried on until half-time, but was unable to come out again and it is feared he has cartilage trouble. Under the circumstances, Aberdeen "A" put up a heroic fight against the dashing young amateurs, who registered their seventh consecutive Alliance League victory. Aberdeen "A" set the pace at the start but Queen's soon found their feet and Westland was kept busy. The Young Dons scored first, however, Scott doing the needful before Morrison equalised from a penalty granted when he bustled out of position when waiting to head the ball. Playing with ten men, Aberdeen "A" put up a grand fight in the second-half, during which they were almost continually on the defensive. Westland was brilliant in goal, while Gavin at centre-half got through much work in great style. In attack Scott ploughed a lonely furrow, but the centre was a hot handful. The long-looked-for goal came fifteen minutes from time when Hall netted. Best for Queen's Park were Cross, Buchanan, Johnstone. Young and Wright. For Aberdeen "A", Westland, Urquhart, Gavin and Scott were best.Source: Press & Journal, 21st October 1935
