'A' Team Fall Fighting

Bennett's Fine Display in Goal

The Young Dons' rearranged team did not hit it off in the Alliance 'Derby' at Dens Park, and the points went to the better team. Tommy Devers made his reappearance for the visitors, while Brown, from Shawfield Juniors, made his debut at inside-left.
Aberdeen "A" held a territorial advantage in the opening stages, but were unable to open their account, although Scott was twice nearly through. The home side gradually assumed the upper hand, and after fine work by the left wing they were soon two goals in the lead.
Adamson got the first as Bennett pushed out a try by Linton, and shortly afterwards Foley was on the spot to net as a try by McGurk rebounded from a defender's legs.
Dundee "A" looked as if they would go right on top after this, but the visitors fought spiritedly, and drew level before the interval.
Scott cleverly turned the ball past Lynch for the first, and Bain equalised in a hectic scramble in the goalmouth.

'Keeper in Form

Bennett was often seen to advantage in the second half, but the home team would not be denied, and first Reid and then Adamson scored to bring their total to four, the 'keeper having no chance on either occasion. Aberdeen "A" were not finished yet, however, and Bain scored after fine play by Devers.
Best for Dundee "A" were Russell, Wemyss, Foley, Adamson, and Linton, while for the Young Dons Bennett (East End), Temple, Reid, and Scott were best.
