Young Dons' Forward Line in Rampant Form.
Aberdeen "A" gave a lively display against Hibs "A" in an interesting Alliance League encounter at Pittodrie. Hibs made a good fight of it up to the interval. After Moore had given the homesters the lead, Donoghue equalised, but Devers restored the home advantage. The Young Dons dominated after the cross-over, and Moore completed his "hat-trick," and Johnston scored a goal to secure a substantial victory. The home forwards were in fine form. Moore took his chances cleverly, and he received splendid support from Adam and Devers. Devers' shooting was a feature of the game. His scoring shot was one of the finest seen on the ground for some time. Love gave a sparkling display on the extreme left, and Johnston, too, had several sparkling touch-line runs. The mid-line was strong, and the defence was never in serious difficulties. Hill, in goal; Kerr, right back; Langton, right half; and Donoghue and Callaghan, forward, were best in an Easter Road side which was gradually worn down.Source: Press & Journal, 27th August 1934
