Two Aberdeen Teams Draw

Alliance Fixtures at Tynecastle and Paisley

Aberdeen "A,' represented by the full first team with the exception of Armstrong for Moore, could only draw with Hearts A at Tynecastle. The Dons were the better team throughout, but great defensive play by the Tynecastle colts kept them at bay.
In the early stages the game play was very scrappy, and any football there was came from the Dons. Benyon played well in the first half, and repeatedly beat the defence, but Waugh in goal was very safe. Near the interval Hearts "A" attacked steadily. But Smith, Cooper, and McGill were very safe, and the interval came with no scoring.
On the resumption Hearts A attacked, and they created a surprise when Walker put them ahead. The Done reasserted themselves following this, and two quick goals by Armstrong turned the game definitely in their favour. They seemed likely to increase their lead at any minute, but the Tynecastle defence held out pluckily and in a breakaway Harvey scored the equalising goal.
Play was fairly even after this, and Warnock went off with a leg injury just before the finish. Taking the game all over a draw was a fair result, as what the Hearts lacked in football skill they made up for with dogged defensive work.
