Young Dons' Exit from Second XI. Cup. In the first half the Young Dons were twice on the lead, but they could not force home their advantage, and Hearts equalised before the interval. Armstrong scored for the visitors, but Gardiner equalised from a penalty, and shortly afterwards Armstrong scored a second goal. Cumming was playing a fine game in the Dons' goal, but near the interval he had to admit defeat when Coutts scored during a scrimmage. The second half was hotly contested. Aberdeen "A" had the better moving attack, but they could not score, and after fifteen minutes a goal came the other end. After a mix up in front of Cumming, Gardiner breasted the ball through. Cumming continued to play well in goal, but misjudged a shot from Miller and Coutts had no difficulty In tapping the ball into the net. The Young Dons did not slacken up, but they were out of luck with their shooting, and a few minutes before the finish Gardiner made their position hopeless when he scored a great goal from a cross Murray, who had played consistently well all through.
