Aberdeen 1 - 0 Kilmarnock

Well-Contested Game at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen A gained two valuable points as the result of their fixture with Kilmarnock A at Pittodrie Park on Saturday. About 6000 spectators witnessed a well-contested game which the Dons might have won by a bigger margin but for a lack of steadiness at close quarters, combined with good goalkeeping by G. B. Wilson.
With the wind behind them the Dons attacked but Wilson failed to cross with Merrie in a position. Falloon cleared brilliantly from Cunningham, and the Dons returned to the attack. McLeod let David away on the left, and when Leslie foozled the latter's cross Wilson nipped in and crashed the ball past the goalkeeper after seven minutes' play.
McKenzie, who was prominent in the visitor's attack with clever leading out play, tested Blackwell with a neat header from a flag kick well placed by Cunningham, but the keeper was very safe.
Aberdeen set up a sustained attack, in the course of which Oliphant and David had creditable efforts well cleared by Wilson, while, at the other end, Paterson shot against the crossbar from a free kick just before the interval.
On the resumption the Dons attacked, and Oliphant was unfortunate to see a great drive carry just over the crossbar, while Wilson saved well from David. Kilmarnock improved greatly and Blackwell had to look lively to clear a fine drive from Paterson, who was the visitors' best forward.
A certain liveliness crept into the succeeding exchanges, and several stoppages were made for minor injuries. Falloon rendered good service in several dangerous raids, and the little Irishman's bouts with Cunningham were greatly relished by the crowd.
Towards the close Aberdeen put on the screw but David and Merrie both missed chances of increasing their lead by shooting straight at Wilson.
