Airdrie 'A' Win

Aberdeen's Second-Half Rally.

The Aberdeen Reserves' journey to Airdrie proved fruitless, the home team winning by the odd goal in five. The visitors made a gallant but unsuccessful effort to save the game in the second half.
The pitch was snow-bound, and ball control was exceedingly difficult. Aberdeen made the first attack, but were beaten back, and Blackwell saved from French. Set to face a blizzard the visitors were mainly on the defensive. Airdrie forced two corners, and then Blackwell saved a terrific drive by Muir.
Thirty minutes after the start Muir opened Airdrie's account from a goalmouth scrimmage, and before the interval Russell added another.
With the advantage of the elements, Aberdeen resumed in convincing style, and six minutes after the restart smart work resulted in Merrie reducing the leeway. It was now all Aberdeen, and a sure counter by David was deflected by a defender. In an Airdrie breakaway Muir increased the home team's total. Aberdeen tried desperately to save the game, but the best they could do was to get a soft goal through Merrie.
