Aberdeen 'A's Easy Victory

Aberdeen A had an easy passage against Aberdeen University in an Aberdeenshire League match at Pittodrie yesterday afternoon before about 1500 spectators, although, had the students possessed a powerful forward line, the result would not have been so one-sided. The Reserves won by 6 goals to 1, and this by no means exaggerated their superiority. They worked well together, and were never stretched to any great extent. Carroll, who operated at centre in the second half when Doolan was suffering from a leg injury, had the "hat-trick," while Doolan himself had two goals, one a header from the outside right position, which he occupied after his injury. McLeod had the young Dons' other point. The students played a fine defensive game, Mackay, Chillas, and Adam excelling in tackling, kicking, and covering up, but the forward line was weak with the exception of Scott, who ploughed a lonely but gallant furrow and deserved a goal. Both outside and inside men were far too prone to get rid of the ball anyhow and anywhere without attempting to draw the defence.
