Easy Win For Aberdeen Reserves

By four clear goals - three of which were scored with the head within five minutes - the Aberdeen reserve team defeated Aberdeen University in an Aberdeen and District League match at Pittodrie Park, Aberdeen, yesterday. The Aberdeen team were superior for the most part of the game, but for seventy minutes were defied by a stubborn defence in which D. Donald, the goalkeeper, was outstanding. After Forbes had headed through a ball which had rebounded into play after being knocked against the bar by Donald in saving from Bowie, Cosgrove also headed into goal from a corner, and later the same player repeated the performance after a fine dribbling movement by Davidson. In the closing minutes, when the University forwards, particularly A. J. M. Edwards and C. Anderson, were striving hard to make up the leeway, Forbes put the superiority of the Aberdeen team into more adequate figures by scoring with a fast shot.
The game was very disappointing to the few spectators present, and, at tames the finishing efforts of the Aberdeen forwards could only be described as lamentable, although they manoeuvred well in the outfield. The Aberdeen University were represented by a weakened team, some difficulty being experienced in fielding eleven players.
