Aberdeen 'A' Win Comfortably

Aberdeen A reserves had a very easy passage on Saturday to the final of the Aberdeenshire Cup. They were able to defeat Peterhead by seven goals to nil, and were so much the masters of the situation from beginning to end of the game that they could have added considerably to the score. Sutherland was a success in the forward line, but his task was not a difficult one, doggedness on the part of the visitors' defence failing for lack of ability to cope with a fast-moving attack. The Aberdeen centre had four goals, Forbes two, and Ritchie one. Connon played cleverly and with vigour, frequently offering opportunities to his colleagues. The Aberdeen defence was never once in difficulty. Mackay, the Peterhead pivot, had a strenuous time, but he could not rally his forwards for a serious effort. Ritchie, the visitors' keeper, had slight chance with any of the goals which were debited to him, and although Aiken and Wilson tried hard to stem the sustained pressure to which they were subjected, their work was not of the standard necessary to deal with a better trained and pace-setting team.
