Aberdeen 7 - 0 Aberdeen University

In recent years matches between the Aberdeen Reserves and the University teams have been productive of close and stirring exchanges, but on Saturday the students showed that their team this season is only the shadow of their former dangerous elevens. There are only one or two men of class in the team, and on these fell the brunt of an encounter in which they had their backs to the wall all the time.
An indication of how the game went may be gathered from the fact that the versatile Ritchie, who figured in goal for the "A"' team, did not handle the ball from a direct shot at goal till well into the second half. In the first half, the heavier "Dons," with the wind behind them, made rings round the students, whose defence, with the exception of Dugan, Donaldson, and Ross, was weak and easily beaten. Macgregor made a number of mistakes in goal, some fatal others not, but probably the biting wind had something to do with it. Six goals fell to the Reserves in the first half without return. McBoyle. Sutherland, Forbes (2), Spalding, and Logie being the scorers. In the second half the students played up better with the wind in their favour, but Ritchie had little difficulty in dealing with anything that came his way. Forbes added No. 7 for the Reserves.
Criticism of the "Dons" team would be futile, as the opposition was weak. Individually and collectively they were easily superior. A pleasing feature of their play was the fine partnership struck up between Moir and Logie. The latter, who was on trial from Inverness Clachnacuddin, showed some very neat touches, and his passes to his wing man were a treat to watch. Of the students the less said the better. Donaldson, Ross, and Moir were the best, and did much to infuse some spirit into the remainder of the eleven.
