Forres Mechanics 1 - 3 Aberdeen

Friendly
Forres Mechanics scorers: Macdonald
Aberdeen scorers: Soye, Wilson 15, Soye 25.

26/04/1910 | KO:

The Aberdeen club played the first match of their tour with the Forres Mechanics on Mossett Park before a large crowd. The teams were:-

Aberdeen: Mutch; Colman, Hume; King, Harper, Miller; Soye, Wilson, Murray, Davidson, Lennie.
Forres: Brands; Munro, Munro; Wink, Leslie, Mackay; Nicol, Murray, Grant, Macdonald, Sutherland.
Referee - Mr. A. Milton.

Aberdeen won the toss, and scored through Wilson 15 minutes from the start. Soye added a second 10 minutes later. Lenny's dashes were always troublesome to the home defence, and he was perhaps the most prominent man in the visitors' side. Just before half-time Nicol shot hard in, and the ball rebounding from Mutch's hands, Macdonald scored easily.

Aberdeen had the better of the second half, but the home team were sometimes dangerous, Grant having a lovely effort which just passed over the bar. Soye, running in from the touch-line, beat several opponents, and gave Brands no chance with a hard drive. The Aberdeen defence proved too strong for the home forwards, both backs playing well. Time came with Aberdeen winners by 3 goals to 1.
